Red Flame Switchgrass is a wonderful variety of grass with foliage that emerges blue-green in spring and almost completely wine-red by the end of summer. Small tan coloured seedheads appear in early fall. Grasses are great for adding movement and/or a vertical element to your garden.
Switchgrass grows best in full sun with average, medium to wet, well-drained soils. Part shade is tolerated, but the plant will become floppy. Drought tolerant once established, but it can also be grown in wet soils.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption). Be sure to increase watering in heat of summer and, watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
