Tatsoi 'Koji'
Brassica rapa subsp. narinosa 'Koji'
Koji is a variety of Tatsoi with excellent heat and cold tolerance, extending your growing season. It has a mild flavour with a crunchy texture.
You can harvest your tatsoi when the leaves reach between 3"-6". Cut just above the base so new growth can still emerge.
Tatsoi grows best in full to part sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Consider adding organic matter to your garden to improve drainage and soil fertility.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
Characteristics
Hardiness: Non-Hardy/Annual
Does Not Require Cross-Pollination
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
