Tomato 'Five Star Grape'
Solanum lycopersicum 'Five Star Grape F1'
Five Star Grape produces 15-20g (1/2-3/4oz) sweet tomatoes that are firm, with a meaty texture, little juice and almost no seeds.
Harvest your tomatoes once they are fully coloured, firm but with a slight give, and easily detached from the vine. Leaving some of the vine on the tomatoes can help them keep for longer.
Five Star Grape is an indeterminate variety. Indeterminate tomatoes are vining plants that produce tomatoes throughout the summer. They require support (Trellis, tomato cage, stake, etc.) to grow.
Tomatoes grow best with warm temperatures and full sun with fertile, well-drained soil that is consistently moist, not soggy. Inconsistent watering can lead to blossom end rot.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
Characteristics
Hardiness: Non-Hardy/Annual
Does Not Require Cross-Pollination and Disease-Resistant
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Let top 1-2" dry out before watering again.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
