Venus Flytrap 'Hulk'
Dionaea muscipula 'Hulk'
Hulk is a vigorous variety of Venus Flytrap that produces some of the largest traps, up to 7cm! Grow it in strong light with consistent moisture for the biggest traps.
Venus Flytraps require different care than typical houseplants. They are native to a very limited area of the coastal plains of North and South Carolina, where they grow naturally in nutrient-poor, acidic wetlands and savannas. Their wild populations have declined due to habitat loss and poaching, but they are not considered extinct throughout most of their native range. Because the soil provides very few nutrients, they have adapted to supplement their nutritional needs by trapping and digesting insects and other small organisms. They prefer strong light and require a cool winter dormancy period.
Dormancy is triggered by shorter days and cooler temperatures. When grown indoors, you may need to mimic these seasonal changes to encourage your Venus Flytrap to enter dormancy. There are several ways to provide a winter dormancy period, so choose the method that works best for your growing conditions. They can sometimes skip a year or two of dormancy, but over time the plant may weaken without a regular period of winter rest.
Venus Flytraps grows best in bright, indirect to direct sunlight with consistently moist, but never waterlogged, growing conditions. Use only distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water, as Venus Flytraps are sensitive to minerals found in tap water. Plant it in a nutrient-poor medium such as sphagnum moss or a mix of peat moss and perlite, and avoid standard potting soils or added fertilizers. It appreciates humidity levels of 50–85% (but can tolerate average household humidity of 40%-50% as long as the roots are consistently moist), summer temperatures of 18–28°C, and winter temperatures of 0-13°C.
Seasonal Availability: Limited stock; available periodically throughout the year.

Keep soil moist, but not soggy. Your pot should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
