Verbena 'Vanity'
Verbena bonariensis 'Vanity'
Vanity is a compact, heat-tolerant variety that produces small clusters of lilac-violet flowers throughout the summer.
Verbena is especially useful in pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, borders, and naturalistic plantings. Its open habit allows other plants to remain visible through it, giving garden beds and mixed containers height without creating a heavy or dense look. The flowers are highly attractive to butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, and the plant’s long stems also make it useful as a cut flower.
Grow Verbena bonariensis in full sun and well-drained soil. It is fairly drought-tolerant once established but performs best with regular watering during extended dry periods. Deadheading can encourage continued flowering, though leaving some spent blooms may allow it to self-seed for the following season.
