Black Giant Winter Gourd produces long, cylindrical fruits with dark green, almost black skin and thick flesh that has a sweet, delicious taste.
Winter Gourds grow best in warm temperatures with full sun and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. They need a long time to mature (110+ days) and may not ripen until fall.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
