Greenhouse Production Labourer

Full-time positions are available in our production greenhouse, where we grow annuals, perennials, water plants, roses, and tropicals. Tasks can include repetitive work such as transplanting, shipping, potting, plant maintenance, producing retail arrangements, and pruning, among others. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively for job requirements and safety, and meet daily targets for quality and productivity. Training will be provided.

Full-time positions are available in our production greenhouse, where we grow annuals, perennials, water plants, roses, and tropicals. Tasks for this role can include transplanting, shipping, potting, plant maintenance, pruning, moving plant material based on greenhouse zones and temperatures, and pulling for the retail store.
If you prefer working in a people-oriented, retail environment, tasks include assisting customers in product selection and care, diagnosing problems, plant maintenance, pruning, unloading trucks with new plant material, and stocking shelves.
Based on knowledge, experience, and job performance, tasks could later increase to include watering, pest scouting and beneficial insect applications, pesticide spraying (with license), and overseeing small groups of other employees.
Applicants must be able to communicate effectively for job requirements and safety, and meet daily targets for quality and productivity. Training will be provided.
Horticultural knowledge and interest are required. Formal schooling in the horticulture field is an asset.
Applicants must be able to meet the physical demands of the work, which can include repetitive movement, lifting, and being outside in various weather conditions. Horticultural knowledge or interest is an asset, but not required. All employees should be able to work evenings and weekends as scheduled. Operating hours can range from 7:00am – 9:30pm and regular shifts will be scheduled as such.
